About River Haven

River Haven is situated on 6.5 acres of land, three miles southeast of Leakey on Ranch Road 1120. The camp sits on a bluff which overlooks a beautiful view of the Frio River, better known as the Rio Frio.

Rio Frio (the "cold river") offers a cool refreshment to hot Texas summers, as well as providing a clean, tranquil setting for rest and relaxation. Two paths are available at River Haven for river access.

Whether you are coming to enjoy a cool river break in the summer, a restful weekend in the summer, in the splendor of spring or fall, or slumber in the crisp winter air, River Haven provides the perfect setting and amenities.

You may also enjoy bicycling, bird watching, or hiking year round. Leakey is in the flight paths of many birds, a bird watchers paradise. We are close to Lost Maples Natural Area, Garner State Park, and surrounded by beautiful hills trees and wildlife.

Log Cabins

Each log cabin at River Haven offers a beautiful view of the river from the porch. They are equipped with central heat and air. They have two bedrooms (with one or two baths), a living room with a fire place and hide-a-bed, DirecTV, and an all electric kitchen. Everything is furnished (linens, towels, dishes, etc.).

6% hotel sales tax is added to the cost of cabin rentals.
There is a 2 week cancellation notice; cancellation within 2 weeks prior to first night is one night's rent. There are no cancellations due to weather, and no refunds if you check out prior to reservation period.
